Southland Boys’ High School Library is an area of the school with growing opportunities for our students to access quality research material, learning skills, award-winning literature and popular fiction and non-fiction titles.
We also provide games such as chess, checkers, and various card games for the students to play during intervals and lunchtimes.

We also have a team of student librarians who carry out duties at lunchtimes and during class visits to help students using the library.

Using the Library Catalogue, students are able to:

- Create their own reading lists
- Submit book reviews
- Find quality research material
- Access resources for specific subjects
Junior School
Year 7 and 8 students have regular weekly visits providing opportunities to not only find good books to read but also to participate in games, quizzes and activities designed to help them engage in finding and using good information.
