On Wednesday 5 June, three members of the 1st XI Football team were presented with a football cap.

Will Cairns, Tiaki Gillies and Zac Owen-Gear were presented with their caps by three Old Boys' of the school - Grant Yorkstone, Ian Kilsby and Dean Miller - who have represented the Southland Boys' High School 1st XI in the past. 

The criteria to earn a cap is that a player must start in 7 Interschool games and represent the school at Winter Tournament Week on 2 occasions.
