The Southland Boys’ High School 1st XI Cricket team had an incredible tour to Melbourne during the October school holidays.
Their tour to Melbourne during the school holidays was a memorable experience as they played four hard fought matches against some of Melbourne's top school sides. The matches were held at impressive and well-maintained cricket grounds, with excellent facilities that made the games even more special for players, coaches and parents.
A huge thank you to Melbourne hosts Trinity Grammar College, Camberwell Grammar School, Ivanhoe Grammar School and Marcellin College who made us feel welcome, and provided fantastic hospitality throughout our stay. We truly appreciate their generosity.
There were some standout performances from our players, with a few individuals really stepping up and showing significant development throughout the tour. The experience not only gave us valuable match practice but also helped the team grow as a unit for the upcoming season.
The team also became tourists for a couple of days, visiting fantastic places including the famous MCG, Melbourne Gaol, Melbourne Skydeck, trams, Melbourne Storm Rugby League training session, shopping malls and other activities.
This trip was the perfect way to bid farewell to the five long serving Year 13 players, celebrating their incredible contributions and unforgettable moments with the team.
